Why this name?
The very first voice.
Pueri is Latin for children — VoxPueri is, literally and symbolically, where the voice begins. Its roots run deep: in 1996, VoxLaci's first Children's Choir was born, for ages 7 to 11; in 2002, after a World Symposium on Choral Music in Minneapolis, the Coro dos Pequenininhos appeared for the youngest, aged 3 to 7. Today's VoxPueri grows from that double root. Here, singing is discovery: children learn to listen, breathe, move, experiment with sound, and realise that their small voice can transform when it meets other voices. Singing crosses paths with movement, rhythm, expression and simple instruments like the ocarina. More than training little singers, the goal is to awaken curiosity, confidence and a lasting love of music — the first door into a world that can stay with a child for life.

VoxLaci's children's choir in Cascais, for ages 4 to 10. Voice, movement and first instruments, no experience needed.
VoxPueri gives children a first musical experience in a group. Singing, movement and simple instruments develop listening, coordination, language, independence and confidence. As across VoxLaci, being an amateur here carries the word's oldest sense: someone who loves what they do.
